At its genesis, the idea of a private medical hospital and health care facility was new to the general populace, who may have been uncertain that such services were within their reach. However, along its journey of two and a half decades, it has been part of SAMS vision to alter that perception. It has worked unceasingly to achieve this, whilst simultaneously remaining committed to providing increasingly improved medical services, a modern facility and cutting-edge equipment, in a field in which change and new technologies are a constant.
Reflecting on their journey, Dr. Lutz Amechi, SAMS Managing Director and Mrs. Allyson Amechi, Administrative Director, stated; “Of course there have been ups and downs, setbacks and disappointments. But there have also been a great many triumphs and ground-breaking achievements. Changing a landscape is one thing, but becoming an integral part of Grenada’s landscape is an accolade we treasure dearly. Being able to offer medical services and health care choices that most in Grenada can afford, is something we are extremely proud of. The introduction of our medi-care packages was specifically taken to address that need. Our reputation continues to grow in Grenada and across the globe, with regional and international insurance companies, cruise ship patients, doctors and hospitals, who have required our services. However, we continue to remain a proudly Grenadian institution, with over 90% of our staff complement being of Grenadian origin, ”he concluded.
