The presentation took place on Tuesday, November 02, 2021. Items donated include 450 disposal isolation gowns, 1440 N95 disposable masks, 200 medical face shields and several other PPE items.
In recognising the risks and challenges faced by medical practitioners on the front line, the President of the Rotary Club of Grenada, Alphonsus Daniel, expressed the club’s commitment to actively support Grenadians during this pandemic. He said, “Rotary as a powerful and trusted international organization with decades of experience in fighting pandemics, in particular, the eradication of Polio, will respond to the needs of our communities. Part of our mandate is to curb the spread of the covid-19 virus by donating protective gear and other supplies to health authorities. Today’s presentation is a glaring example of our worldwide collaboration to ensure well needed resources are available where they are most needed.”
The Ministry of Health was represented by Permanent Secretary Hannah Julien St. Paul. “This donation will go a long way to enabling our health practitioners and volunteers to remain safe whilst they face tremendous risks in service to our country. It is through donations and strong partners like the Rotary organization we are able to defeat the coronavirus.”
The Rotary Club of Grenada wishes to thank the Ministry of Health and all persons working hard and making sacrifices to keep us and our communities safe.
