The Rotarian ascended to the leadership position in October 2022, and is the first woman to be installed as President in the 117 years history of the organization. Rotary International has a worldwide membership of over 1.4 million persons in over 200 countries.
It’s the first time since its establishment in Grenada, the President of Rotary International will visit the Island.
President Jennifer E. Jones will be welcomed by District Governor (2022-23) Leslie L. Ramdhanny who heads the organization in Rotary District 7030.
During her very short stay in Grenada, President Jones is expected to make a courtesy call on Governor General Dame Cecile La Grenade, visit the Grenada School for Special Education and the Quarantine Point Park, then meet and interact with members of the Rotary family at a luncheon reception at the Spice Island Beach Resort.
A Rotarian for over twenty-five years, Jones had previously served as Rotary International Vice President, Director, Training Leader, Committee Chair, Moderator and District Governor. She said one of her goals as Rotary International President is to have double-digit growth in the number of female Rotarians and Rotarians under the age of 40.
“I believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion begins at the top and for us to realize growth in female membership and members under the age of forty — these demographics need to see their own reflection in leadership,” Jones said. “I will champion double-digit growth in both categories while never losing sight of our entire family.”
President Jones is also extremely proud of the work Rotary has done in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing $29.7 million to help local clubs respond.
Jones is founder and president of Media Street Productions Inc., an award-winning media company in Windsor. She was chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Windsor and chair of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce.
She is married to Mr. Nick Krayacich, a Rotarian himself.
