At approximately 11am on Saturday, 5th June 2021, an explosion occurred at our Grand Mal Terminal in Grenada whilst welding work was being performed on a fuel tanker. This explosion sadly resulted in the unfortunate death of one of our contractors, Locksley Murray.
We wish to express our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Murrary and assure the public that we are investigating this very serious incident. Our local and regional teams are working very closely with the Grenadian authorities to quickly establish the details and cause of the explosion.
Safety is our number one priority at RUBIS and we wish to reassure residents that our Grand Mal Terminal has been thoroughly checked and safely secured following this isolated incident.
We are devastated for this tragic loss of life. We will provide further updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
