The newly enlisted students, accompanied by their parent/guardians met with local Directors of the Fund headed by retired educator Jeanette DuBois, and other members Oslyn Radix, Lauriston Hosten and Arthur Hosten.

Also present at the ceremony was head of the Fund, Carnice Modeste who was visiting from New York.

The new students were briefed about the program and told of expectations from the donors.
Past and present students also gave an update about their progress over the academic year.

The Directors urged the parents/guardians to take an active role in their children’s education, as well as monitor their online activities and meet with their teachers.

The recipients expressed their gratitude for the assistance and pledged to work hard to meet the stated goals of the program and make themselves and their parents proud.

The annual St. John’s Educators’ Scholarship Fund was developed to honor educators from the St. John Parish and to provide financial assistance to them.

The scholarship fund was established in 2008 and is funded by persons from Grenada, other Caribbean Islands, and the general public and through fundraisers.
