Leading Grenadian hotelier, Sir Royston Hopkin has suffered a setback in his efforts to get a U.S Court not to hear a US$100 million lawsuit filed against him by the Marryshow family in connection with the estate of late lawyer, A.O. Payne.
A judge in the New York jurisdiction has brushed aside a request made by a high profile U.S lawyer, Natalie Reid for the case to be removed from his court and placed before a judge specializing in commercial litigation.
The Marryshows have filed a case in New York against Sir Royston, his brothers Arnold and Johnny Hopkin and several other locals for alleged wrongdoing in the administration of Payne’s multi-million dollar estate.
