Police in Grenada are tonight investigating what appears to be murder after the body of a long-standing executive hotel employee, Coleman Redhead, was discovered in blood at Ross Point Inn in St. George.
Well-placed sources told THE NEW TODAY that police were called in after someone, identified as the owner of an ice-cream business on the island, alerted them that he had found Redhead, who was his friend, at an
apartment complex at Ross Point Inn in Belmont with blood coming from his knee and face.
He reportedly told lawmen that Redhead appeared to be dead and that the place was ransacked.
According to another source, the alarm went off for the former Food and Beverage Manager at the Rex Grenadian Resort when he did not show up for work at the Grenada Yacht Club.
He said that Redhead who suffers from diabetes did not call his place of employment to report sick and that he was not coming to work for the day.
He indicated that a few of the associates of the deceased called his cellphone several times but got no answer and then decided to go and look for him fearing that he might have suffered a diabetic coma.
He stated that on arrival at the apartment they called him out, got no answer and discovered that a back door to the place was open.
“They pushed the door and went inside the apartment but when they went in a little further they saw two foot lying on the ground and when they went closer they saw him (Redhead) covered in blood”, said the source who asked not to be named.
According to the source, the police were then alerted and soon arrived at the location that now appears to be a murder scene.
Redhead’s death came one day after he attended the funeral service of his former brother-in-law, top local hotelier Sir Royston Kopkin who died two weeks ago in Trinidad & Tobago from complications after
undergoing surgery.
