It was refreshing to hear Mrs Bernardine on the George Grant programme two Sundays ago as I was about to give up on my party the NDC.
Ms Bernadine sounded good and reminded me very much of Uncle Tilly – a very sincere woman who has Grenada at heart.
A lot of us did not see any hope for the National Democratic Congress with the current lot that is out there speaking on behalf of the party.
Claudette and them are trying but cannot match up to Dr. Keith, Peter David and Chester and will be defeated again in the next election.
We cannot go back to Nazim Burke since the people have bought into the propaganda against him by Peter and Chess in particular. Nazim is just not a people’s man.
Our party will only survive and be better able to beat the NNP if the leader is someone like Uncle Tilly that they can look up to for trust, decency and integrity.
We thought we would have been in power for a long time after the 2008 election until the Revo boys started with the infighting once again like October 1983 and capsized the NDC ship.
Our party was sabotaged by those involved in the infighting for power on both the Peter and Nazim sides and poor Uncle Tilly was sacrificed.
But all is not lost as the NDC has a solid base of supporters in our country who are waiting on good leadership to go forward.
If Uncle Tilly and the others can get Sister Frank to accept the leadership of the party in the convention in November the NDC will stand a good chance in the next election.
I can see in Sister Franka a person who can easily become the Mother of the Nation and help the country change course from the pitbull-type leadership of Dr. Keith who is a real melee man.
A lot of people are sick, fed up and tired of Dr. Keith and his brand of politics and looking for something new.
It will be two years just now since the NNP clean sweep and the people can’t see the promised oil money and the boom that Dr. Keith promised at the NNP election rally on Pearl’s airstrip.
The Doc has lockjaw disease as he is not saying a word anymore on the oil boom. Even Gregory Bowen is quiet as Energy Minister on the oil boom with the Russians.
Every election the Doc is coming up with some kind of trickery and mamaguy to fool the people to keep him in office. The last time it was oil and if I think I know the Doc he is starting to think up something to fool the masses once again.
The people are tired of the tomfoolery and would like to see something better and more genuine at the national level.
No one in Grenada should hold their breath and look for anything new from the NNP as Dr. Mitchell is too power hungry to give up the party to Peter and Chester Humphrey and will be running again in the next election.
I can’t think of no better person in the NDC than Sister Franka as the next Political Leader and to put together a team of good men and women to end the NNP reign.
I am confident that my Grenadian brothers and sisters will accept Sister Franka with open arms before any other person in the NDC like Claudette.
Our party cannot go back to Nazim Burke and the boy called Kennedy Roberts is a non-starter. I don’t think that I need to say anything further on Kennedy since he should not even take himself seriously to become the Political Leader of NDC.
Any serious person in NDC would not hesitate to think that the only person who should become our next leader is Ms. Bernardine.
