Our entire family members are supporters of Dr. Mitchell and the New National Party. We have always supported NNP since its formation as we came from a GNP background with Uncle Ben in St. Andrew.
I remember my father telling us to give support to Dr. Keith when he challenged Herbert Blaize for the leadership of the party sometime in the 1980’s. I remember Kennedy Budhlall coming to our home and speaking to my father to be a delegate and to vote for Dr. Keith at that very convention.
It was the very first time that my father joined a political party as a member and voted for Dr. Keith to defeat Mr. Blaize who was really getting on in age. So we have always been on the side of Dr. Keith over the years because we feel deep down in our hearts that he is the best man for the job in Grenada.
However, I am seeing some strange things within the NNP of late that is forcing me to see things a little bit differently. We had a family chat a few weeks ago and agreed with Kennedy Budhlall that Dr. Keith should hide Sheldon Scott and the one called Pastor Winston Garraway as representatives of the NNP in the sight of the people. My sister went to the convention and came back home with the sad news that Pastor Garraway was re-elected to serve as an executive member.
This is not good for our party and I am really upset with it. I will not go to my MP with this concern as she too is not happy but is afraid to speak up. She always say well that is what the man, meaning Dr. Keith wants and no one can go against him.
Dr. Mitchell might be making a very terrible mistake by taking all of us NNP’ites for granted. We are not like the Gairyites and swallow each and everything from the leader. There is a lot of disquiet among we the NNP supporters over this boy called Pastor Garraway.
I have a daughter going to TAMCC and she is doing well in school and hoping to get a scholarship to go to SGU to do medicine. I want to see my daughter reach the top in school and end up with a real doctorate to do medicine. I do not support my daughter doing anything under the table to get a bogus PHD as the one that was given to Pastor Garraway a few years ago.
Our family joins with Kennedy Budhlall in calling on the Doc to remove this man from our eyesight. Our party could lose face from many persons in the next election by sending the wrong signal about people like Sheldon Scott and Pastor Garraway. I agree that Garraway has to eat a food too but the Doc can find some kind of a party work for him with a good salary.
I hope that by going public with this that our Prime Minister will listen and get the message that a lot of the supporters are not blind and stupid and want to see Sheldon Scott and Pastor Garraway removed for their stupidity and put into lesser positions in terms of interaction with the public.
