Not many days ago I was reminiscing on some of the instances that Keith Mitchell attempted to cause justice to be hindered and some names of past employees/officers such as Commissioner of Police, Willan Thompson, former Chief Magistrate, Patricia Mark, Chief Justice Brian Alleyne, as well as Brian Francis, Permanent Secretary in Finance, Gemma Bain-Thomas, Cabinet Secretary and most recently Veronica Charles Ag. Permanent Secretary, Social Services among others.
Another name that comes to mind is Dorset Charles, the small entrepreneur from Grand Anse and the U.S Electricity Company, WRB Enterprises along with the numerous promises to investigate into several matters.
I want to say that age, knowledge and experience are valuables which educate and enlighten a people particularly the young and not so young.
The track record of Keith Mitchell and his involvement in numerous unsavoury deals, pops up every now and again, yet regrettable many fail to take positive action.
Some of us have repeatedly reminded the populace of the promises made by Keith to enquire into wrong doing in several areas; most of these promises never materialise.
One which took place was that of the Brief Case Matter – which I personally maintain is not dead.
I ask myself the question – will Dr. Brian Francis seek legal redress for defamation of Character? If yes and he does, what will be the outcome? I will hate to think that it may cost us much by way of defense and compensation as was the case with WRB.
A caller on the To the Point Programme, recently expressed much concern about Dr. Keith Mitchell’s handling of matters and suggested that he should be humble and save us among other things financial burden as was/is in the case with WRB.
Most, if not all patriotic Grenadians are fed up with how Dr. Mitchell performs and I cannot understand why it is that it is felt in some circles that we cannot find a better alternative.
Come on Grenadian, we can make it if we try. Even the Doc admitted recently at a press conference when asked by a reporter if there is anyone who is capable of leading the party NNP in the near future and he admitted that there is, bearing in mind that sometime ago he said that he did not see anyone to replace him.
It was/is said time changes and so do man, but can this leper change its spots? I say yes for he indicated not too long ago that he was not prepared to contest in the soon coming general elections but recently made it clear that he will be contesting – is that not a change?
