Some union leaders in Grenada aren’t better than Keith Mitchell.
They will burn a Church down to stay in power at all costs. Yes, we are aware there were issues in the payment of some teachers’ salaries. The government has given the commitment that this will be rectified and has started doing so.
Why are we now trying to make a Mountain out of a Mold Hill about students in Carriacou attending classes underneath tents? Are these leaders forgetting that 3 months ago there was a powerful hurricane?
Are we expecting everything to build back within 3 months? Can the union leader explain to me what his organisation’s position is? Should schools remain closed until they are properly repaired?
Some of us are quite aware that elections are due in the union next year and like Keith Mitchell we are putting ourselves up for a third term.
This administration has settled a number of outstanding issues with Teachers. No more marching on the streets. Let’s see how we can pick a fight somehow.
I wish the Union leader would use the same energy and encourage the members to give an honest day’s work for their pay.
Go on Facebook and other social media sites and count the number of Teachers who are online when they should be doing their jobs.
