The flame of corruption and mismanagement in government is fully ablaze: Cellphonegate Scandal among others.
However, let me remind all about this: “One, one dumpling full the pot”. “Every day bucket going down the well, one day its bottom will fall out.”
I travel almost every day from H.A. Blaize Street to the Bocas and to Grand Anse (Grand Lance) more or less every Sunday and make observations/pay attention to what is taking place, two of which have occupied my thoughts for months now.
First, debushing and cleaning/clearing of drains in parts of the Bocas and along the road to where is known as White Gun. For several weeks I observe a man as it were singlehandedly not only cutting the grass, the more than over hanging branches; but also CLEARING the drains. That man, I understand is “not so well up there” (Common Parlance) but gave and continue to give value for money and more , but recently I noticed two women, apparently on the job just sitting on the rail, and did I see another man a day or two doing what ? No grass cut and little dirt removed from the drain – “robbers at the highest.”
Secondly, every Sunday on the Grand Anse/Belmont road patching of the road is a reoccurring decimal. Are we getting value for money or is some just, “Eating a food?” There is need to do better as “Curious Observer” wrote is his/her contribution. “Stop the Wastage”.
