Wear National Colours to Sailing Festival

Grenada Sailing Festival organisers are asking spectators and visitors to wear National Colours February 2-3 at the annual Workboat Regatta on Grand Anse Beach, making it a colourful start to Independence celebrations for the Tri-Island State.

According to Damon DuBois of Westerhall Rums, the event’s Title Sponsor, “Westerhall White Jack Workboat Regatta is an event highlighting our islands’ sailing heritage and traditions and is a great place to begin Independence Celebrations for 2019.

“Wear National Colours, bring your flag and celebrate with us. You could win a prize”, he said.

There will be two days of competitive Community Class Racing when all crews will be going full throttle to win first place to qualify for the final day’s GSF16 Match Race Final – for the highly prized overall title of ‘Champion of Champions’ & a cheque for US$1,000.00.

Again this year there will be even more to race for – as the owner of the winning boat will walk away with a YAMAHA outboard engine presented by McIntyre Brothers.

There will be new action for 2019, with talented young sailors showcasing their racing skills in a Junior Dinghy Mini Regatta sponsored by Budget Marine, plus a Carriacou Sloop Challenge Race sponsored by Savvy Grenada Sailing Charters.
