Superb distributes many products well known to our Tri-island state. Products, such as Rica juices, Stella milk and oil, Allegra pasta, Bebin diapers and Nu-Brite laundry detergent, fabric softener and dishwashing liquid; just to name a few.
Apart from distributing some of our island’s favourite products, Superb Distributors is known to give back generously to the community, especially the youth as they are the future of tomorrow. From conception to present day, they have contributed to children and senior homes, the community fridge on Maurice Bishop Highway, sanitation packages throughout Covid-19, donations to St. Vincent after their devastating volcanic eruption and most recently, almost $60,000 to primary & secondary school sports 2023.
This year, in honour of their 5th anniversary, they launched a Superb Scholarship Programme. The purpose of this initiative was to sponsor five (5) children in need transitioning from public primary to public secondary school, with a full scholarship of $1500.00; throughout their five (5) years of secondary school.
Founder and owner, Cathy-Ann Belmar stated, she was inspired to do so after as she observed the hardship parents are currently facing. She stated, “with inflation and economists predicting an economic recession in the near future, parents doing their very best to make ends meet are still struggling on a daily basis.” After receiving the applications from the public primary schools, the management and staff said the applications and essays they received “touched their hearts in a way they never imagined possible.”
They decided to sponsor an additional ten (10) children with a partial scholarship of $500.00 for their first year of secondary school, two of which are children of their very own superb team members.
The Superb Scholarship Committee are all expressing gratitude to all the children who applied, the schools and the parents who all played a major role in the successful launching of their Superb Scholarship Programme. A press conference was held in the Cricket Stadium, Wednesday, September 6th 2023 at 4:00 pm to officially congratulate and award the scholarship recipients.
Pictured here, are eleven (11) of the fifteen (15) children. Two were unable to make it due to unforeseen circumstances. The other two (2) reside in Carriacou and wasn’t able to make it due to commute restraint.
The team is looking forward to the continuation of this initiative to assist parents and children in need, with a smooth transition to secondary school. Public Relations officer of Superb, Rickol Julien stated, “As Malcolm X once said, education is the passport of our future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. We are all delighted to contribute to such a worthy cause, preparing our children of today for a superb future tomorrow.”
The Superb team is encouraging others, organisations and individuals alike, to lend a helping hand to each other.
