The top TAMCC student in Carriacou

Abdona Pollydore – did the sister isle proud in the TAMCC exams

18-year old Windward resident, Abdona Pollydore has copped the top award for Year Two in Psychology, Law and Sociology as a student at the Carriacou Campus of the Social Sciences department at the T.A Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) for the 2023/24 school year.

Speaking to THE NEW TODAY, the young Pollydore who is a past student of Bishop’s College on the sister isle, did receive an award in Year One for being the most Outstanding student in Law and Psychology.

On getting the news of her outstanding performance, Pollydore said she felt “very happy” about this scholastic achievement and accomplishment.

“I was shocked ….,” she told THE NEW TODAY.

According to the student, she had previously told her Professor at TAMCC that she wanted to pick up all the awards following her success in Year One.

“So when I opened the letter and I see that I was getting for all three this year and including the Most Outstanding Social Science student, I was overwhelmed with joy,” she said.

The young Pollydore is hopeful of getting assistance with a scholarship to pursue law studies at the University of the West Indies or in the United Kingdom.

She did obtain 11 CXC subjects at Bishop’s College with 8 distinctions and a Grade 2 in the other three subjects.

Abdona also made the Dean’s list in TAMCC for her outstanding scholastic achievement at the tertiary institution where she recorded a GPA score of 3.98.

She has also received “A” grade in all her exams at the college and is currently waiting on results from CAPE exams this year.

Abdona is the daughter of Roxanne Pollydore who is a pre-primary school teacher in Windward, Carriacou.
