THE NEW TODAY has gotten ahold of a Voice Note in circulation among elements in the Underworld of Crime which supports last week’s article about a contract on the life of the man known as The Carenage Don.
The report indicated that two Vincentian contract killers were in Grenada about three weeks ago for the primary purpose of executing the Carenage Don as revenge for the murder two years ago of a major Vincentian drug lord in Woburn in the south of the island.
A male voice was heard in the Voice Note outlining that the persons pursuing the Carenage Don is a brother of the deceased Vincentian drug pin and his two sons.
The person was heard saying: “The scene dey with (Vincentian drug lord) the men and them won’t let that slide. Dem men and them done get information that is (Carenage Don) that call the shot.
“(Deceased Vincentian drug lord) had the links from Colombia with all the cocaine. So (the deceased) used to bring through all the cocaine down dey (Grenada).
“He (Carenage Don) know all that – remember he (Carenage Don) been working with the man (Vincentian drug lord) and the man (brother of Vincentian drug lord) say he (Carenage Don) that call all the shot and the man get dead.
“(Deceased Vincentian drug baron) got some serious links. When that man bring in cocaine from Colombia is England, America and dem places (Vincentian drug lord) has links to sell the cocaine.
“So dem man ain’t going to let that (the killing) slide so – especially his brother in Vincy – dem men ain’t going to let that slide so and he has two big sons dey – they ain’t going to let that go so. Dem men ain’t going to stop until they get the (Carenage Don).”
Local underworld sources have said that the Carenage Don was forced to go underground after receiving a tip-off that the Contract Killers had been monitoring his movements in St David where he is building a house.
According to sources, the Vincentian gunmen refrained from firing their weapons on one occasion out of fear that they could endanger the lives of other innocent persons who were around.
The Carenage Don is known to have had a close relationship with the deceased Vincentian drug lord and has been identified as the person who arranged the marriage with a local woman for him to relocate his business from St Vincent to Grenada.
