Shooting in Mt Parnassus

Jason Joseph – shot in the area of the back

Police are investigating a shooting this afternoon in the Mt. Parnassus area of St. George North-east in which one man was rushed to the St. George’s General Hospital for treatment.

The injured man has been identified as Jason Joseph, a senior employee of the construction company known as CCCCI which is currently in charge of the Mt. Hartman Quarry in the south of the island.

According to a well-placed source, Joseph was sitting in his car outside of his home, speaking with someone on his cellphone when he was approached by a single gunman who shot him.

“He was shot by someone who arrived by car. He (gunman) stopped in the gap, ran down to the house where Jason was seated in the car. I don’t know if it was more than one shot. He got shot in his back,” he said.

THE NEW TODAY understands that the injured Joseph is said to be in stable condition at the hospital.

Joseph is the son of the late L.A Purcell, one of the most popular local businessmen in the city.
