The foundation, set up in the name of former primary school principal, Pearline Garraway, has awarded a second scholarship in her name.
The scholarship, valued at CAN$1,000 was presented last week to Marika Edwards.
The first Pearline Garraway Education Foundation scholarship recipient was Lexie Straker, who graduated last year from St George’s University, where she majored in biology.
Garraway began her teaching career in the mid-1950s in St David and retired in 1982 as principal of St George’s Anglican Junior School on Church Street. She died in 2016 at 93.
The family-operated Pearline Garraway Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, is headed by son Lance Garraway, a Canada-based certified financial planner and former scholarship class teacher at St George’s Anglican Senior School.
