Annin Williams, the 29-year-old shopkeeper charged with non-capital murder for the fatal stabbing of Eron Anthony Dragon, has been granted bail in the sum of $50,000 by the St. George’s High Court.
An application was made before High Court Judge Madam Justice Paula Gilford, who granted bail to the murder-accused at the St. George’s No.1 High Court on September 6.
As part of the bail conditions, Williams is required to report to the Central Police Station three times a week, between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., while awaiting his next court appearance.
Williams is due back in court on September 16 for the start of the Preliminary Inquiry, which will determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed with the matter to the High Court.
The accused has been in custody since the fatal incident that occurred on August 24 at the Lower Morne Jaloux/Marian area.
The altercation resulted in the death of Dragon, a popular coconut and juice vendor, who was known in the community as “Dollar.”
Dragon sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck and left forearm, in Grenada’s 14th homicide for the year.
Dragon, regarded in the community as a hardworking and respected individual, was father to a young son, and his sudden death has left his family devastated.
