Masked men strike in Grenville

Details are beginning to emerge about a robbery last night in Grenville, St. Andrew.

THE NEW TODAY understands that a businessman and his wife, who are associated with May Fair Store, were attacked around 8.00 p.m. on arrival home.

Initial reports said that the business people were robbed of cash and other valuable items, including their Toyota car, on Salisbury Road by two masked men.

A later report said that 35-year-old Kamal Khushalani of Salisbury Road told police officers that two men dressed in dark coloured clothing with masks over their faces took away $5,500 in cash from him along with a quantity of jewellery.

According to the later report, the businessman arrived home along with his wife whom he left in the vehicle to go and unlock the gate leading into the property.

He said that he heard a loud scream and when he looked he saw the car moving and one of the attackers trying to get into the car and when he was unable to do so he ran into some nearby bushes.

The police were then called and informed of the robbery.

There has been no official release issued by the Royal Grenada Police force (RGPF) on the Grenville robbery of the business people.
