Female high court judge Agnes Actie has given a ruling to settle a dispute between two businessmen on the island.
The judge heard the matter involving DADDY WAYNE’S GROCERY LTD (Claimant) and Indian businessman GITA K.K. PASUP ELETI who is Trading as “Kumar Department Store”) as the Defendant.
The issue at stake is the contention of Daddy Wayne that he was owed over $17, 000.00 for mattresses and pillows delivered to Kumar who was contending that he had paid for the items.
Newly appointed Kings Counsel Ruggles Ferguson KC appeared for Daddy Wayne while female attorneys Deborah St. Bernard and Ssavanna Seales represented Kumar in the matter.
During the hearing, the high court judge had to pull up on several occasions on the Indian businessman who was violating established court procedures.
The judge chided Kumar for trying to introduce new material in the case that deviated from his own pleadings in the case.
