The words used by a highly qualified regional expert to describe the latest political survey done by Justine Pierre
A regional expert has slammed into controversial Canadian-based Labour Statistician and “Pollster” Justine Pierre after reviewing a recent political survey that he conducted which showed that there is a tight fight taking place between the New National Party (NNP) Leader Emmalin Pierre and Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell for the upcoming general election.
The expert who worked for many international organisations over the years has labelled the work done by Pierre as “sloppy” and “embarrassing” and questioned some of the conclusions reached in the survey.
“He really messed up”, said the expert.
According to Pierre’s poll, PM Dickon Mitchell holds a narrow lead over Pierre in overall favourability but that the Opposition Leader has the stronger overall public-opinion profile because she attracts considerably less negative sentiments.
The April 17, 2026 political leadership survey was reportedly based on 4142 respondents and found that about six in ten Grenadians viewed both leaders favourably.
However, PM Mitchell had a slim advantage with 2638 favourable responses compared with 2538 for Pierre.
The survey also found that the Prime Minister has a slightly larger core of respondents who view him as very favorably but that Pierre appears to have broader acceptability.
It pointed out that a significant number of respondents either declined to give an opinion or said they did not know enough to assess her.
The regional expert said the survey should be seriously questioned, especially that portion of the report listed as “Item No.16 of the report” which focused on a section called “Data Validation Note”.
He said he was surprised to see that in this portion of the report there was “No Data Validation” that followed in Pierre’s work.
“…That omission is particularly conspicuous and the reason why it is conspicuous is that he claimed that he delayed the publication (of the survey) to conduct a rigorous Peer Review.
“So if you are doing a rigorous Peer Review (and you delayed the publication, you can’t miss that (nothing written under the column Data Validation Note). That’s insane – you should go to jail for that in a Statistical Universe.”
The expert also questioned the process used by Pierre to make his assertions in the survey.
He said: “What kind of Methodology, what kind of sampling he did? We need to know that to basically tell whether or not the study is decent. How can you do a Rigorous Peer Review and you missed that?”
The expert called on Pierre to go and clean up the report that was released before some other competent and qualified persons in the field get to see the survey and start to take him to task for sloppy work.
“Somebody out there will be smart enough to see that (No Data Validation) and pick it up. He (Pierre) really messed up there,” he remarked.
Another issue raised by the expert on Pierre’s survey is his tendency to make generalised statements without doing what he called “A Probability Sample”.
He said the best that Pierre can do in the study “is to generalise for the Survey Participants – he can’t generalise for the country because he did not take a Probability Sample in which everybody eligible in the country had an equal chance of being selected.”
“That’s the only way you can generalise for the population,” he said, adding that instead of doing that Pierre used survey participants to generalise for the nation.
“How he picked them I don’t know and whatever he gathered from them he is making statements but the statements should only be for them.
“He has to generalise for the people in the sample and not the population so he is in a bad place.”
Pierre has referred to himself at times as “A Psephologist and Labour Market Consultant” and at other times as “A Psephologist in training”.
He has admitted that the Data collected by him are sent to people in India and other countries to arrive at the conclusions.
Speculation is rife in some quarters in Grenada that Pierre is working closely with a certain faction within the opposition NNP after failing to secure work with the Congress government.
The Canadian-based Labour Statistician is known to have approached several key persons in the regime including at least three government ministers for work which did not materialise.
Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell is known to have told his colleagues “to stay far away” from the controversial Pierre who claims to have graduated in 2019 from Charisma University in the Turks and Caicos Island with a Phd.
However, a review of the 2019 graduation ceremony of the university on YouTube indicated that Pierre was only “a Candidate” for PhD and still had work to be completed in order to be granted a Doctorate.
Pierre is also known to have lost his job at a local credit union as Manager before migrating to Canada for engaging in questionable dealings.
