The Ministry of Health has taken receipt of a large donation of medical supplies from an outfit in the United States.
The gift to the government and people of Grenada came from a medical supplies company that involves Grenadian Tony Howard.
The donation was officially handed over on Tuesday to officials in the Ministry of Health including the Permanent Secretary.
“We intend to make some additional donations to the Ministry of Health,” said an official of the group.
THE NEW TODAY understands that it is not the first time that Howard and his associates have extended a helping hand to the island.
During the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the group sent a large quantity of Covid-19 rapid test kits to Grenada.
In addition, the members also donated a large quantity of face masks, face shields and other medical supplies to residents in St. Andrew.
There are also reports that some of the persons associated with the donation are planning to set up a business on the island to use Grenada as the distribution centre to ship medical supplies to other islands in the Caribbean.
