Sou Sou in yuh … Experience in yuh

I am committed to the transformation of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique which needs to be taken to a better place and this is one way of making an effort to do so. I have nothing to hide but prefer to sign off as “TRUE” instead of disclosing my name at the end of this and other articles I intend to submit.

The expression: “Sou Sou in yuh …” signified frustration and summed up disdain for the current administration not only by the individual who coined it but by many others who live here in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. It is no wonder that coming out of that expression another one is worth making: “Experience in yuh …”

Anyone who continues to think that the NDC Candidates are too young and inexperienced and is using this as a reason to refuse voting for them on June 23, 2022 is making a mistake. It means that these individuals are not admitting to the facts and refusing to accept the truth.

Imagine, even leader of the NNP begged his supporters to listen to him when he admitted that the NDC Candidates are a group of people ready to take this country forward. The truth is experience brought each of the NDC Candidates to this stage where they can now offer themselves to serve their country.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine who was voted into office on May 2, 2019 by 73% of Ukrainians is a good example for those who think that the NDC Team is too young. Zelensky is only 44 years old and despite his age he currently enjoys high approval ratings. He is considered one of the most popular Presidents; more popular than Joe Biden.

Zelensky also had this to say: “You don’t need experience to be President. You just need to be a decent Human Being.”

Yes Grenadians, decency plays an important role in leading any country and right now Grenada Carriacou and Petite Martinique needs decent people to take care of its affairs. Dickon Mitchell and all fourteen (14) NDC Candidates demonstrated that they have integrity, are decent, honest, willing and capable to lead Grenada.

Grenadians should readily embrace and accept them all to form the next government. Those who choose to remain willfully blind to the facts are threats to their own safety and existence and that of every other Grenadian living in Grenada.

Grenadians should also be mindful and avoid being woefully blind to the experience that they themselves had over the years. Instead, they should use that experience to teach them lessons, raise their levels of consciousness, guard their judgments and make the right choice on June 23, 2022.

No one with sound mind who is honest and fair thinking will ever admit that this country should continue to exist on its current path: with broken promises, broken systems, broken dreams and broken people.

We all have a critical role to play in governing the affairs of Grenada and the sooner everyone understands that governance is not a one-man-show the better. Many were misled into believing that governance is the job of one man because of what they were exposed to in the past but the time has come for the truth be told and it be understood fully before June 23, 2022.

It is also important for Grenadians to know that governance is: of the people, for the people and by the people.

Grenada needs a lot of prayers to ensure that NDC forms the next government so that this country can be governed by the people and for the people.

Common sense must prevail on June 23, 2022! May God bless Dickon Mitchell and his team! May God bless Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique!

Forward ever!
