The announcement of limited ferry service to Carriacou and Petite Martinique by Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Keith Mitchell has left a bit of an uneasy feeling among citizens here.
While we know that ferry service between the islands is vital, we call for critical thinking to be done to ensure this happens in a structured and organised manner.
This may require the screening and testing of persons travelling from Grenada to Carriacou and Petit Martinique to do a mandatory self-quarantine of 14 days as COVID 19 is still present in Grenada.
We, therefore call on those in authority namely the Government of Grenada – Ministry of Health, Grenada Ports Authority, and the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs to do what is right to safeguard the lives of all citizens.
