PSC is ducking RGPF sex scandal

THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (PSC) IS NULIFYING ITSELF FROM THE SEX SCANDAL IN THE RGPF FOR WHICH IT IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE.

It has been four plus weeks since the first report regarding the sex scandal in the RGPF involving senior police officers are suspected of preying and abusing female police officers in the organisation.

It is clear to me by now, having followed the story from the beginning, that this issue is of a serious nature and it seems to me that based on THE NEW TODAY article of May 20th, 2022, some urgent action is needed by the Commissioner of Police, the Minister of National Security and Prime Minister, the Integrity Commission and The Public Service Commission in order to bring closure to this disgraceful conduct plaguing the people’s police force.

We the women of Grenada are appealing to the relevant authority to act and act quickly to investigate this issue. It is clear that this is no allegation, it is a report made by several victims and the reports are specific to who those culprits are.

Knowing that the United States and to a lesser extent the United Nations provide support in many ways to the RGPF, this type of behaviour oozing from the leadership of the institution, it does not reflect well for the country since both the United States and the United Nations can be forced to sever the normal relationship with the RGPF.

The police force and the country may very well be at risk of losing on the needed support and in most cases financial which can seriously affect the continued growth and development of the organisation.

We are calling on the United States Embassy and the United Nations Sexual harassment office to intervene as an independent oversight over the current crisis in the RGPF.

The general public is hopeful that this matter will be investigated in due course. In the meantime, the COP must commence investigating who in the executive attempted to force himself onto a female officer at his office and which of the executive exchanged those explicit photos with that warden in Grenville.

This is a plea from Women against all forms of Sexual Harassment in the police force and Grenada as a whole.
