Concerns about the road works

I have a little observation to make about the Hot Mix asphalt paving works project on the Maurice Bishop Highway.

I may be wrong, but for the several times I passed on the project, I have not seen any technical officer from the Ministry of Infrastructure.

I have some concerns in the absence of seeing the contract documents with drawings, scope of works and specifications.

There is no basic project data as to the length of the roads, project cost (contract sum), project duration, name of contractors and name of consultants to supervise the construction of the roads (government technical representatives).

It seems that the Ministries are lacking Project Planners or Project Managers to give the general public a brief on these infrastructural major projects.

Right now, I am down on the Maurice Bishop Highway.

NAMALCO believes that there are no technical people on the island.

I still continue to see the longitudinal joint on the surface of the paved road.
